IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Brady
Giles
June 9, 1942 – October 1, 2024
John B. "Super B" Giles
06/09/1942 – 10/01/2024
South Pittsburg, TN
John B. Giles, 82, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee was called home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
John B. was born and raised on Sand Mountain, Alabama alongside four brothers and one sister. He and his family worked the land in his youth, and it instilled a love for farming and animals for the rest of his life.
He met Sue, the loving woman he got to call his wife for 63 years, at church on South Pittsburg Mountain in the fall of 1960 and continued attending and serving Orme Mtn Church of God for as many years.
John B. loved to work hard driving commercial trucks and prided himself on getting up every day to provide for his family up into his eighties.
He also enjoyed his hobbies of coon hunting with his friends, riding horses with his son, picking on a guitar, watching his westerns, truck-trading with anyone who had a deal and notoriously rooting for both the Tide and the Vols.
He, then, spent the rest of his time making millions of memories with his wife, son (Sammy) and daughter (Susan), as well as three grandchildren and many friends. He loved to light up a room with laughter and was full of jokes and old adages. He will always be deeply cherished and evermore missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory!"
He was preceded in death by his father, Harve B. Giles, mother, Eva Bell Boatner Giles, and brothers, Harve and Donny Giles.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Sue Hibbs Giles; son, Samuel (Rhonda) Giles; daughter, Susan (Eugene) Thompson; two grandsons, Blake Giles, and Hunter (Emily) Giles; one granddaughter, Kinsey Thompson; sister, Dinah Giles; brothers, Terry Giles and Jerry Giles and several nieces and nephews.
