Obituary

Mr. John Henry "Hank" Patrick, 60, of Kimball, TN died suddenly on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in Kimball, TN.
A native of Gainesville, Florida, he was a graduate of Florida State University where he earned his Master's degree and also did some doctoral work in Sociology. He was the co-owner of Patrick-Partin Insurance Agency in South Pittsburg and was an avid hunter, fisherman and coach. For many years, he was a fireman with the South Pittsburg Volunteer Fire Department and was a past Assistant Chief. He was a past member of the South Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Board, the South Pittsburg Lions Club and the South Pittsburg Rotary Club. He was currently serving on the Nickajack Port Authority Board and the Board of First Jackson Bank. He served the Tennessee Defense Force as a Staff Sergeant and served on the Vestry at Christ Church Episcopal in South Pittsburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W.W. Patrick.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Smith-Patrick of Kimball and Clayton, GA; mother, Catharine Clodfelter Patrick of Tallahassee, Florida; children, Carolyn Elizabeth "Carey" Patrick of South Pittsburg, John Havron Patrick of Philadelphia, PA, Gregory Franklin (Lisa) Smith II of Clarksville, GA and Stephen Blake (Alicia) Smith of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, David (Beth) Patrick of Tallahassee; sisters, Frances (Jim) Garvin of Carrollton, TX and Maureen (Ken) Richards of Tallahassee; granddaughter, Catherine Marie Downs of Clarksville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather with friends for visitation from 6-8 PM CST on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted from Christ Church Episcopal in South Pittsburg on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 11 AM CST with Father Steven Eichler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the South Pittsburg Volunteer Fire Department, Christ Church Episcopal in South Pittsburg, or the Hank Patrick Scholarship fund c/o Rogers Funeral Home at 400 Laurel Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
