Johnnie Mae Harris Buchanan, 90, of South Pittsburg, TN died Saturday, August 15, 2009 in a Birmingham, AL hospital.
The widow of the Ernest Atkins Buchanan, she was a longtime resident of South Pittsburg and a member of Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Julius (Maxine) Matthews, Jr.; grandsons, Michael S. and Julius O. Matthews; great-grandchildren, Shemeka (Darius) Young, Julius Keith Matthews, Joshua K. Matthews and Janita K. Matthews; great-great-grandchidren, Shaniya D. and Ny'Kiyah L. Young all of Birmingham, AL; special best friend, Gladys Wooten of Jasper, TN; devoted friend, Carolyn Young of Birmingham; friend, Kimberly Wyatt of Jasper; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 AM CST with Reverend Richard O. Smith officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
