It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Johnny William Sitz.  Born January 7, 1950, in South Pittsburg, TN. Johnny departed this world September 24, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Johnny was a man whose life was a testament to humility, kindness and unwavering faith.

Johnny was the beloved son of the late Hary Stone Sitz and Mary Merdle Smith Sitz. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Darlene Sitz, whom he shared a life full of love and devotion.

Johnny’s legacy lives on through his children, Shannon (Lanny) Graham; Jonathan Sitz and Jesse Sitz, who carry forward his values and spirit. He was a proud grandfather to Scott (Haley) Graham, Savannah Graham; Stone Graham and Gavin Sitz. Johnny was a great grandfather to five beautiful children, Jayden; Scarlett; Maverick; Legend and Mercy. His sisters, Mary Jackson and Pat (Kevin), each having shared countless memories with Johnny that will be treasured for years to come.

Johnny was a man of many talents, he dedicated years of his life as a welder at U.S. Stove Company, where he was known for his diligence and expertise. Beyond his professional achievements, Johnny answered a higher calling, serving as a pastor at Orme Valley Church of God. In this role, Johnny touched countless lives with his sermons that resonated with love, compassion and the teachings of the Lord. Johnny was a beacon of hope and a source of strength for his congregation, always offering a listening ear and a kind word.

Johnny was not only a devoted husband and father but also a man who lived his life with humility and kindness. His gentle spirit and unwavering faith served as an example to all who knew him. In his family’s words, “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”- II Corinthians 5:8

In honoring Johnny’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held for close family members.

Though Johnny’s presence will be deeply missed, the love and lessons he imparted will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved Darlene and embraced by the Lord he so faithfully served.
