Johnny D. "Toby" Stewart, 65, of South Pittsburg, TN died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.


The son of the late John Mitchell and Clydie Louise Grider Stewart, he was a 1968 graduate of South Pittsburg High School and a US Army Veteran, having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Local 704 Ironworkers Union for 10 years and had served for 25 years as a Rural Mail Carrier with the US Postal Service in Jasper, Tennessee.


He was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl Stewart and Gene Stewart; sister, Wanda Stewart Webb; father-in-law, Don Kirkpatrick.


He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie Kirkpatrick Stewart of South Pittsburg; son, Zack Stewart of Chattanooga; brother, Roy Stewart of South Pittsburg; mother-in-law, Shelby Kirkpatrick of South Pittsburg; sister-in-law, Tracey (Trace) Kennemore of South Pittsburg; brothers-in-law, Randy (Shannon) Kirkpatrick and Roger (Teresa) Kirkpatrick all of Jasper; aunts and uncles, Louis & Bebe Fuqua and Neil & Janie Kirkpatrick all of South Pittsburg; several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2pm Central time with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Richards Cemetery.


The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, May 2nd from 5-9pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
