Jonathan "Lil Jon" Strickland, 32, of South Pittsburg, died Friday, July 4, 2008 from injuries received in an automobile accident. A native of Jesup, GA, he had lived in South Pittsburg for the last 16 years, working as Lumber Yard Supervisor with Cardin Forest Products. He was a member of the Battle Creek Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J. A. and Claudie Lee Jones and Jack and Thelma Strickland.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Strickland, a step-son, Matthew White, both of South Pittsburg, his mother and step-father, Vivian Jones and John C. McBride of Jesup, GA, his father, Jack F. Strickland Jr. of Charlotte, NC, a sister, Stephanie Thomas of Indian Trail, NC, a brother, Jack Strickland III of Atlanta, GA, a half-sister, Melody Strickland of Charlotte, NC, 2 step-sisters, Marcele Sparre and Arlean Soles, both of Brunswick, GA, 2 step-brothers, Mitchell McBride of Warner Robins, GA and Victor McBride of Jesup, GA, his God parents, Mike and Ruthie Cardin of South Pittsburg, his companion, Mikki Johnson of South Pittsburg, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, July 8, from the chapel of Rhinehart and Sons Funeral Home in Jesup, GA. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July11, at the Office of Cardin Forest Products, 2534 Battle Creek Road, South Pittsburg, TN.
