Joy Marie McNabb Thompson, 80, of Whitwell, TN died at a Chattanooga hospital on Saturday, August 22, 2009.

The daughter of the late William "Red Bill" and Flossie Echols McNabb, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Tommie Pachoud.

She is survived by her daughter, Melinda "Mendy" (Don) Curtis; grandson, Jake Curtis; sister, Edna (Leon) Thomasson all of Mullins Cove, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Michael Ake on Sunday, August 23, at Echols Cemetery in Mullins Cove at 2pm CDT. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
