Joyce Bookout Steele, 85, of South Pittsburg, died unexpectedly at a Chattanooga hospital on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

She was born in South Pittsburg and lived here all her life.  She graduated from South Pittsburg High School.  She was a 60 year member of Calvary Baptist Church in South Pittsburg.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy (Buckjack) Steele; parents, Hester and Alice Price Bookout; sisters, Elizabeth Gillian, Louise Rowe, Opal Servant, Virginia Moore and Shirley Evans.

Survivors include her two daughters, Pat (Roy) Rankin, Donna (Doug) Smith; grandchildren, Will (Nikki) Rankin, Zac (MaKanzie) Rankin, Heather (Aaron) Gibson; great grandson due in February 2021 Many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor, Joe David Moore and Pastor, Robert Caudill officiating.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
