Katherine Hughes, 89, of South Pittsburg, TN passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 in a local nursing home.

She was a charter member of Christian Baptist Church in New Hope, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burrel Hughes, parents, John and Eva Howard, son, Howard Hughes, and granddaughter, Sandra Wood.

She is survived by her sons, Joe (Martha) Hughes of New Hope, Jerry (Janice) Hughes of Kimball, TN; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 2 pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN with Rev. Wayne Winters and Rev. Joe Cooper, officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 5-9 pm Central time at the funeral home.
