Mrs. Katherine Jewell Payne Smith, 79, of South Pittsburg, TN died Monday, February 4, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.
The daughter of the late Joseph Roy and Frances Elizabeth Gibson Payne, she was a member of the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Smith; son, Greg Smith; sisters, Frances Layne, Velma Jo Chance and Ruby Brown; and brother, James Leonard Payne.
She is survived by her son, Ricky (Debbie) Smith of South Pittsburg; daughter-in-law, Beverly Smith of South Pittsburg; grandchildren, Melissa Beaty, Kevin Smith and Chastity (Doug) Bradford all of South Pittsburg; great-grandchildren, Nicole Beaty and Gregory Bradford; brother, Billy (Liz) Payne; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 10am Central time on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 with Rev. Brad Bridgman officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday morning from 9am until service time at the funeral home.
