Kenneth Hookey, 89, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his home.

The son of the late Joseph Wheeler and Zell Catherine Coburn Hookey, he was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a US Air Force and Merchant Marines. He was a 60-year member of Marion Lodge #515 F.&A.M. He retired from J. I. Brown Tree Company after 35 years of service and retired from the South Pittsburg Water and Gas Board.
Kenneth was an avid University of Tennessee Volunteers fan and loved to fish. He also enjoyed studying and talking about local history with his brother, Bobby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Martin Hookey, and siblings, J.R., Donald, Clayton, Jerre, Bertha, Betty, and Bobby.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Bowman, Leslie (Doug) Bell, and Paul "Tater" (Vamela) Hookey; grandchildren, Nicole (Stanley), Sean (Stephanie), Brittany, Bailey, and Haven; great-grandchildren, Jacob, David, Jazmine, Journey, and Jericho; great-great-grandson, Conner; sister-in-law, Sally Hookey; and special friends, Bo Burnett, Donald Blansett, Wade Clepper, and the entire city of South Pittsburg.

Funeral services will be held at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Central time with Rev. Joe Moore and Bro. Brandon Hookey, officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard will follow the service at Gilliam Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Central time at the funeral home. A masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
