Mr. Leonard Vince Peoples, 83, of South Pittsburg, TN died, Thursday, February 16, 2006 at his home. The son of the late Willie Vince and Mary Ethalynda Shoemake Peoples, he was an US Army veteran of WWII and was retired as a lineman after 40 years with SVEC. He was a Past Master of Marion Lodge #515 F&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a former Mayor of Kimball and a member of Kimball Baptist Church. Mr. Peoples is survived by his wife, Dorothy Peoples; children, Dean & Wilma Peoples all South Pittsburg, Jimmy & Carolyn Peoples of Conley, GA and Teresa & Charley McClain of South Pittsburg; grandchildren, Robert & Robin McClain of Germany, Tammy & Rocky Sutherland of Soddy Daisy, TN, Vince Peoples of Cookeville, Dale & Shea Peoples of Stockbridge, GA, Jamie & Adam Stovall of Jonesboro, GA, Ashley Peoples of Conley, GA; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, S. Wallace Peoples of South Pittsburg; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg with Rev. David Hoschar officiating. Masonic services will be held in the chapel following the funeral service. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kimball Baptist Church Building Fund.
