Obituary

Elizabeth "Libby" Hogan, 69, of Richard City, TN died Friday, June 15, 2012 at her home.

Born in Russellville, Alabama to the late John Riley and Ila Mae Willis Hutchins, Libby attended the Catholic Church and taught Beauty School for many years in Peoria, Illinois. She loved needle-work of all sorts, especially crochet and was a voracious reader; often reading 6 to 7 books a week. She also loved gardening as long as she was able to do so and was such a prolific flower gardener that some of the neighborhood children called her "Flower."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Glenna Romine and longtime companion, James "Shorty" Tompkins.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Ann (Tom) Britnell of Florence, AL; sister, Lona (Wayne) Parker of Richard City, TN; grandchildren, Kirby and Sarah Britnell both of Florence and Carrie Britnell of Mississippi; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Denise (James) Martin of Denton, TX, Beth (Robert) Balala of Russellville, Amanda (Joe) Collier of McMinnville, TN, Riley (Kathy) Malone of South Pittsburg, Josh (Angela) Parker of Hillsboro, TN and Aaron (Courtney) Parker of Manchester, TN; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3pm Central time on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg with Father Mark Scholz and Bill Stuart officiating.

The family will gather with friends from 2pm until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Beene-Pearson Library, 208 Elm Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
