Lindsey E. "Sonny" Shoemaker, Jr., 64, of Jasper, TN, died Tuesday in a Chattanooga hospital.
The son of the late Lindsey Eston and Martha Frances Outland Shoemaker, he was a deacon of the Baptist Hill Baptist Church and a self-employed truck driver. He loved trucking and loved people. "Sonny" was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lamar Shoemaker, a brother, Donnie Shoemaker, and a sister, Linda Hood.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Shoemaker; one son, Donald E. Shoemaker; grandson, Shane E. Shoemaker; brother, David Lynn Shoemaker; sister, Sandra Pittman all of Jasper; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, at 11:00am, with Rev. Roger Webb and Rev. Buddy Strickland officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
