Lola B. Smith Cooper, 84, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away at her home Sunday, May 6th. She was a long time member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Jasper. She was preceded in death by mother and father, Charlsie Corbin Smith and James Whit Smith; her husband, D. O. Cooper; and her son, George Wayman Cooper.
She is survived by a son, David O. (Carol) Cooper, Jasper, Tennessee, and a daughter, Martha D. Cooper, Atlanta, Georgia; two granddaughters, Teri (Greg) Peardon, Whitwell, Tennessee, and Jodie (Tim) Gravitt, Jasper, Tennessee; four great-granddaughters, Nichole Peardon Higdon, Signal Mountain, Tennessee, Kelli B. Peardon, Jasper, Tennessee, Brandie and Payton Gravitt, Jasper, Tennessee; three great-great grandchildren, Luke and Laura Higdon and Skylar Gravitt, brother, Randall Smith, Ider, Alabama; four sisters, Lassie Keith, and Bessie Lewis, both of Henegar, Alabama, Mary White, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Tina Green, Hixson, Tennessee.

Pallbearers are her nephews Don York, Greg Keith, Rodney and Shane Lewis, Robert Smith, Jim, John, George, Terry and Andy Cooper, and Jim Parker.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to care givers, Pat Durham and Hilda Aker; Hospice of Chattanooga; and the doctors and staff of Chattanooga Oncology & HematologyAssociation.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm CST to 8:00 pm CST on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm CST with Rev. Steve Middleton officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper, Tennessee, will be in charge of the arrangements.
