Louis Ward Fuqua, 90, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Sunday February 14, 2021 peacefully at his home.

He was the son of the late John William Fuqua and Blanche Ellen Dudney of Gainesboro, TN. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Bebe Kirkpatrick Fuqua.

He is survived by two sons, Kirk Fuqua and Kevin (Amy) Fuqua; grandson, Mason Fuqua; granddaughter, McKenna Fuqua; Cousin (Sister) Patty (Kirby) Walker; brother in law, Neil (Janie) Kirkpatrick; sister in law, Shelby Kirkpatrick, several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends and Navy buddies.

Louis was an active member for many years with The Masonic Lodge, The American Legion, Scottish Rites, VFW (Post 6362) & Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.

After graduating from Jackson County High School in Gainesboro, Tn, he joined the US Navy for 4 years aboard the USS Gainard (DD-706) during the Korean War.  He completed the Operator program with TVA then working for several other power utilities, Brock & Blevins, and later joined General Electric as a startup engineer where he spent several years building power plants in foreign countries until finally retiring to spend time with his family and working on their farm.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm CST at Richard Cemetery with Minister Ron Gilbert officiating.  Full military honors will  being conducted.

There will be no public visitation.
