Obituary

Lula Teeters Taylor, 92, of Jasper, TN died on Friday, November 12, 2010 at her home.
Born into a family of 8 children to Fred and Josephine Cook Teeters, she was educated at Richard Hardy Memorial School, Marion County High School, Freed Hardeman University and California State Polytechnic University. She attended the Jasper Church of Christ, was a past member of Home Extension Club and worked with the Bloodmobile.
Mrs. Taylor had a teaching career that spanned over 25 years. She taught elementary school, having worked in the Jump-off, TN school, three California Public Schools and Columbia Christian Elementary School in Portland, Oregon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Ray Taylor and her sister, Tressie Sanders.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Taylor of Jasper; sons, James Michael Taylor of Fort Worth, TX and John Wayne Taylor of Athol, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 10am Central time on Monday, November 15, 2010. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper.
The family will receive friends from 2-5pm Central time on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or Chattanooga Children's Home 315 Gillespie Road Chattanooga, TN 37411.
