Lynda Sue Barnes (Morrison), cherished wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away on June 10, 2022 at her home in Montrose, CO.
Lynda was born March 15, 1943 in Palmer, TN and returns home to be laid to rest with her family at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery on July 1, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. (CDT).
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (CDT) at Rogers Funeral Home, Jasper location; 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, TN (423) 942-2682.
A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. (CDT) on Friday, July 1 st at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery, in Whitwell, TN with Pastor Joe Moore officiating.
Lynda was an amazing homemaker, florist, loving mother to her two children and grandmother to her four grandchildren. She treasured hosting her family for holidays and was a remarkable cook who could not wait to plan large meals for her family. Lynda was an avid gardener who loved planting flowers and caring for her beautiful yard. She was fond of traveling with Harold and was always excited to see new places and get away from home for a vacation.
Lynda is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, Harold F. Barnes; her son Harold F. Barnes, Jr., his wife Ginger Barnes, and their children Ryan and Madelyn; her daughter Michelle L. Reagan, her husband Kevin Reagan, and their children Katherine and Bodey; her nephews Carey Morrison, Patrick Morrison, and their families; her niece Melissa Thomssen, her husband James Thomssen, and Melissa's mother, Dorothy Brown; and many life-long friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bessie Eloise Morrison and Fred Elvin Morrison, and her brother Fred Elvin Morrison, Jr. (Sonny).
Donations can be made in her honor to the Glioblastoma Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Please continue her brave fight against this devastating disease.
