Maina Darden Pellam, 80, of Whitwell, TN, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at her home.
The daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Violet Morrison Peoples, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her own and many others. She also loved the outdoors, traveling, gospel music and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Billy and Jackie Peoples, Mary Rich and a daughter, Linda Henderson.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Carson of Jasper, Gary (Jane) Pellam of South Pittsburg and Joseph C. Pellam, Jr. of Whitwell, TN; brother, Herman (Betty) Peoples; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Pete & Connie Layne and Teresa Poe.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1pm Central time on Friday, January 31, 2014 with Rev. Dennis Hastings officiating. Interment will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Whitwell.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 30th, from 5-8pm at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
