Obituary

On this day, we celebrate the Homegoing of Margaret Hale McCain who departed this life on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
Margaret was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, the fifth of six children of the late Henry and Lena Hart Hale. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McCain; sister, Mildred Hale McGuire and brother, Charles Leonard Hale. Her devoted grandparents John and Lela Hart also preceded her in death.
Margaret accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Margaret graduated from McReynolds High School, received a Bachelors degree from Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana and her Master's Degree from Columbia University in New York.
She taught for many years at McReynolds School and South Pittsburg Elementary School. Devoted to her students, her dedication to their education was evident in her continual efforts to push them toward excellence. She will be forever remembered by the many, many students whose lives she touched.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Mrs. Lela Lee of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers, Mr. Marcellus Hale of Detroit and Mr. John Madison Hale and wife, Hazel of Chattanooga; nephews, Gregory, Tyrone, Oscar, John and wife, Anisa; five nieces, Charlene, Pamela, Sultra, Tonya and Crystal; several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Margaret's place in the hearts of our community will always be treasured.
Mrs. McCain's family would like to express their gratitude to all the people of the South Pittsburg community for their prayers, cards, calls, visits and other acts of love shown during her illness.
Special thanks to Gentle and Betty Jackson for the love and care shown to Margaret over the years as caring neighbors.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11AM Central time with Father Mark Scholz officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.
The family will recieve friends for visitation on Monday, March 29th from 10 am Central until service time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 700 Holly Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
