Mrs. Margaret McCaskey Merritt, age 91, of Signal Mountain, TN passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016.
Mrs. Merritt was born on September 5, 1924 in Radford, VA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Mervin Frank Merritt, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus E. McCaskey, brothers, Alpheus E. McCaskey, Jr., and Andrew L. McCaskey.
She is survived by three children, Rebecca M. Mills (Donald Joe, Jr.) of Marietta, GA, Stephanie M. Colvin (LeBron) of South Pittsburg, TN and Richard S. Merritt (Helen Ann) of Rome, GA,; grandchildren, Christopher A. Mills (Ashley) of Woodstock, GA, Sarah M. Osburn (Tommy) of Pittsboro, NC, Ian S. Merritt and Victoria L. Merritt of Rome, GA; brother, Robert McCaskey of Greensboro, NC, sister, Dorothy Parks, of Florence, SC and several nieces and nephews.
As a lifelong artist, Margaret served as a docent for the Hunter Art Museum of Chattanooga, TN; was a member of MAGI (Mountain Art Guild), of Signal Mountain, TN and during her stay at Alexian Village Healthcare Center regularly exhibited with the Alexian Senior Artist Group.
Mrs. Merritt was a member of the Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church since 1961.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, from 12:30-1:30 EST at Alexian Village Chapel, Signal Mountain, TN with graveside service to follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:30 PM EST.
