Mrs. Margaret Matilda Wiggins Greene, 83, of South Pittsburg, TN died at a local nursing home on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
The daughter of the late James Cecil and Rosa Ella Cargyle Wiggins, Mrs. Greene lived most of her life in South Pittsburg, graduated from McReynolds High School, Livingston College in Salisbury, NC, Ohio State University and Tennessee A&I and was a school teacher in both Marion County, TN and Walker County, GA. She was a member of Brakebill Chapel AME Zion Church. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patrice McClure and brother, James W. Wiggins.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her son-in-law, Lawrence McClure of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter, Julee Carol Bethann McClure of Knoxville, TN; brother, Charles (Mary) Wiggins of Bridgeport, AL; nephews, Steve Wiggins of Chattanooga and James Richard (L'Tyana) Wiggins of Lawrenceville, GA; niece, Lela (Kevin) Helmholt of Chattanooga and several great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg at 2PM Central Time on Monday, July 11th, with Reverend Ronnie Case officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN.
