Allen Marie Hallmark Quarles, 87, of Knoxville, TN, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 surrounded by family.
Born in 1929 to the late Roby Cecil & Myrtie Zelma Holland Hallmark, she was raised in Whitesboro, Alabama and married D.C. Quarles in 1946. They moved to South Pittsburg, TN in 1951, where they raised three sons, Ramsey, Mike and Brian.
Marie & D.C., with their youngest son, Brian, moved to Knoxville, TN in 1970. Following D.C.'s death in 1992, Marie stayed in Knoxville until 2007 when she moved to Winchester, TN. She spent the rest of her years in Winchester courageously fighting Alzheimer's.
She was a faithful church member in every community in which she lived, having been a member of Whitesboro Community Baptist Church, South Pittsburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Halls, Tennessee.
Marie will always be remembered as a lovable, compassionate and devoted wife, mother, and friend to many.
In addition to her parents and husband, D.C., she was preceded in death by four sisters.
She is survived by her brother, Cecile Allen Hallmark; sons, Ramsey (Myra) Quarles, Mike (Dava) Quarles and Brian (Tina) Quarles; grandchildren, Tera D. (Kevin) Kelly, Ava Brook (David) LaRoche, Kellie Marie (Rex) Womack, Bailey Jane (Walker) Henley, Dara Camille (Isaac) Patrick; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 12:00 Noon - 1:45pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN.
Graveside funeral services will begin at 2:00pm Central time on Thursday at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Tullock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Bailey Manor Assisted Living for Alzheimer's/Dementia, 300 Hospital Road, Winchester, TN 37398.
