Marilyn Frances Dawson Payne, 59, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Friday at her home. A member of Grace Baptist Church, she had been raised in the Orme Church of God. She will be remembered most by her gentle kindness and generosity she gave to others, in addition to her undying love of God and her family.
The widow of Charles A. Payne, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lela Evelyn Payne; her mother, Bertha Dawson; a brother, Leon Dawson; a sister, Brenda Wilbanks; and Robert and Grace Cleveland.
She is survived by a son, Charles (Shelly) Payne of Bridgeport, AL, her daughter-in-law, Sherrie Payne, granddaughter Paislee; step-grandchildren James Brandon, and Samantha; three brothers, Ernest, Marvin, and Melvin Dawson; a sister, Linda Dawson, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2:00pm Central. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00pm Central at the funeral home.
