Martha Elizabeth Jaynes Church, 61, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Mrs. Church was a graduate of MTSU where she received a degree in education. Teaching was one of the greatest loves of her life. She dedicated her entire 38-year teaching career to Richard Hardy Memorial School, enjoyed volunteering for any school function and especially loved each student she encountered.

The daughter of the late Isaac Melville Jaynes and Mary Elizabeth Burrow Jaynes, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Jan Henderson.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 40 years, Jerry Church; children, Matt Church (Brett) and Abby Massengale (Matt); grandchildren, Ethan, Landrie, and Sawyer Church, and, Clint Massengale; sister, Alyce (Bill) Weaver; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 10, 2019, in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Bridgeman officiating.

Interment will follow in Cumberland View Cemetery.

The family will receive friend for visitation on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 3:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Martha's name to Richard Hardy Memorial School, 1620 Hamilton Ave, South Pittsburg, TN 37380.
