Martha Sue Howard Shafer Baker, age 69, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

Martha was born on April 22, 1947 to Hugh and Louise Clark Howard in New Hope, Tennessee. She married Kempie L. Baker on October 1, 1998 in Monteagle, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Allen Howard; two infant brothers; and a sister, Barbara Faye Kelly.

Martha retired from R B & W where she worked for many years. To her friends she was known as Marty, to her friends and family in the south, Sue, and to all her grandkids, Baby. She was loved by everyone and always had a smile on her face. She will be very missed.

She is survived by her husband, Kempie Baker of Ohio; her mother, Louise Howard; daughters, Debby (William) Johnson and Brenda (Jason) Webb; grandchildren, Michale (Becca) Johnson, Levi Myers (Naomi Woody), Jessica (Adam) Gauthier , Kelly (Brady) Cox; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Charlie Myers, and Kolton Webb.

Funeral services will be held at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Central time on Monday, May 16, 2016 with visitation from 12:00 until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
