Mary Joe King, 85, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee died peacefully in a Chattanooga hospital on Sunday, July 28, 2019.

Born and raised in the Sweeten's Cove Community, Mary Jo was the third child, and first daughter born into a family of 13 children. She was not only considered a loving, caring sister to her 12 siblings, but also a second mother figure.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Dola Mae Castle King, and five brothers, William King, John King, Jr., Albert King, Ernest King, and Dee King.

She is survived by four sisters, Betty (Buford) Boyd, Ann (Bruce) Chance, Pearl (Bobby) Poe, and Susie (Danny) Alder; three brothers, Kenneth (Violet) King, Jimmy (Carolyn) King, and Houston (Betty) King; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Central time with
Rev. Ronnie Case, officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 30th from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Central time.
