Mrs. Mary Allie Scruggs Vinson, 92, of Jasper, TN passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 in a local hospital with her family at her side.She enjoyed being a member of the Baptist Hill Church for many years. She worked in an elementary school cafeteria and later in the South Pittsburg Hospital Clinic. Her love of and dedicated work toward her beautiful flower gardens was a blessing to all who knew her, especially to those who came by for a visit and a good home-cooked meal.She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dewey Vinson; her parents, William and Lillian Wallace Scruggs; 6 brothers and sisters.She is survived by her only daughter, Virginia Samples of Chattanooga, TN, Bill (Mae) Vinson of Whitwell, TN, Ken (Robin) Vinson of Clearmont, FL and Ron (Kayren) Vinson of Ranger, GA; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM Central Time with Reverend Roger Webb officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 AM until service time at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.
