Mary Joyce Troutman Payne, 87, of South Pittsburg, TN died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at her home.

The daughter of the late Doyle and Dora Mae Powell Troutman, she was an operator with South Central Bell for 20 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Richard City Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl Payne, and a brother, James "Popeye" Troutman.

She is survived by daughters, Glenda Hill and Debra Payne both of South Pittsburg; grandchildren, Gregg (Tessa) Hill of Summerville, SC, Gray (Lauri) Hill of Jasper, TN, Heather (Jeremy) Chaffin of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Shirlie Jane Taylor of Macon, GA; brother, Gordon (Nancy) Troutman of Tiftonia, TN and nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1pm Central time on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 with Gardner Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 22nd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Central at the funeral home.
