Mettawee Ruth Holtcamp Dawson, 71, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023.

She was born to Jim and Nancy Holtcamp on July 27, 1952.

She loved caring for the children at Holly Avenue Methodist Church daycare.  Her family and God were most important to her.  She was a member of New Hope Church of God.

Mettawee was a graduate of Marion County High School, class of 1971.

She loved being together with her family, especially the grandchildren and her dog Milo.

Mettawee was preceded in death her by parents, Jim, and Nancy Holtcamp; grandparents, Gilbert and Irene Coppinger, Fred, and Laura Holtcamp; brother, Anthony Holtcamp.

Survivors include her husband, of 48 years, Royce Dawson; son, Jason (Donna) Dawson; grandchildren, Kayla, Katie, Cody, and Shon; sister, Holly Holtcamp; brother, Jim Holtcamp, Jr,; uncle, Jack (Helen) Holtcamp; aunt, Connie Coppinger, and several cousins and her precious dog Milo.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (CST) in the Jasper chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Dawson and Pastor Mayburn Guess officiating.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (CST) and Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home

Pallbearers will be Cody Dawson, Adam Dawson, Jacob Dawson, Caleb Payne, Jimmy Dempsey, Caleb Tucker.
