Mildred Elizabeth Chance Smith, 97, of South Pittsburg, TN, died Friday, February 10, 2017 in a local nursing home.
She was the daughter of the late James Houston and Frances Walker Chance and was a member of the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ewing Smith, Jr., her son, Samuel Smith, brother, Robert Chance, sisters, Nelle Steele, Edna Stagner and Jewel Webb.
She is survived by her children, Margaret (Don) Elledge, of Kimball, TN; grandchildren, Melissa Moss, of South Pittsburg, Julie (Chris) Sartorius and Todd (Paula) Elledge all of North Carolina; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Carlton Harper and Rev. Bruce Potter officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 12 Noon until time of service.
