Morgan Hershel Fraley, 83, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Morgan was a faithful member of Kimball Church of Christ. He was born in Decherd, Tennessee, in Franklin County, to the late Hershel Berry Fraley and Margie Alma Farris Cole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Fraley and Bartlett Fraley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Hilda Garner Fraley; son, Berry (Kathy) Fraley of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; daughter, Angel Fraley of Jasper, Tennessee; sister, Martha Jones of Hazel Green, Alabama; and two grandsons, Luke (Hannah) Fraley of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Levi Fraley of South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

Morgan graduated from Franklin County High school in 1962.

Mr. Fraley proudly served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He moved to Marion County in 1974 and devoted his life to his faith, family, and community. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Morgan was truly a jack of all trades.

Throughout his life, he was actively involved in church and youth ministries. He started the Children's Bible Hour in Jasper and taught the teen class at Ebenezer. He also faithfully drove the church van for the Senior Saints for many years.

Morgan enjoyed an active lifestyle and was an avid jogger and bicyclist, logging more than 97,000 miles on his bicycle. He coached Little League football and baseball and was known for his willingness to help others. Professionally, he owned and operated AFECO in Chattanooga, specializing in food service equipment and commercial kitchen design for nursing facilities, restaurants, and schools.

In his spare time, Morgan enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, traveling, hiking, snow skiing, and woodworking. His love for the outdoors and his strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) at Kimball Church of Christ, 1500 Main Street, Kimball , TN 37347 with Billy Watkins, Ronnie Case, Joe Austin and Matthew Sloan officiating.

Visitation will be held at Kimball Church of Christ on Sunday June 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CDT) prior to funeral service at the church.

A graveside service will be held at The Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) with Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be his nephews: Jeff Fraley, Neal Jones, Michael Jones, Tom Fraley, Chris Clark, and Jeffery Garner. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Garner, son of the late Jackie Garner.

The family is so grateful to the Hospice team of Chattanooga for all the wonderful care and kindness they have given Morgan in the last five years, especially Donna Nelson RN, Ann Roberts RN, Heather Haswell RN, his CNA Jennifer Hernandez has been so helpful with bathing and over and above her duties.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kimball Church of Christ and designated for either Kimball Christian Academy, Cuba Missions, or Hospice of Chattanooga.

Morgan's legacy of faith, service, kindness, and devotion to his family will be cherished and remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
