Nellie Hess
Nellie Mae Smith Hess, 94, of Kimball, Tennessee, and a former resident of Grundy County, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in a local nursing home. The daughter of the late John Lewis and Martha Tennessee Smith she was a member of Kimball Church of Christ and a former member of the Mountain Beautiful Garden Club in Tracy City and the FCE Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glyn Hess and a sister, Louise Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Glynda Sue Huffman, of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Rebecca Huffman Guidi, Christopher Huffman, Michelle Huffman Wells, Heather Huffman Rogers; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Lois Boyd, of Kimball, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN with Billy Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. Entombment will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
