Mrs. Nina Gertrude Ross Schnauffer, 85, of Jasper, TN died Friday at a local hospital.

The daughter of the late John Sherman and Ethel Estelle Vinsant Ross, she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and had been a long-time nurse at South Pittsburg Municipal Hospital. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the VFW Auxillary.

Mrs. Schnauffer is survived by her husband, John H. "Sarge" Schnauffer of Jasper, one daughter, Carol S. (Steve) Woodfin of South Pittsburg, three grandchildren, John Flint Woodfin, Larry Dale "Bo" Woodfin, and Stephanie W. Prince, all of South Pittsburg, five great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mabel Ellis of South Pittsburg, Gladys Daffron of Sequatchie, Faye King of Rock Spring, GA, Barbara Rogers of Red Bank, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held from Christ Episcopal Church at 2:00pm Sunday, July 15, with Rev. Stephen Eichler officiating. Entombment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4:00pm to 8:00pm CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.
