IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Niya Monique
Kelso
May 8, 1982 – January 29, 2020
Niya Kelso, 37, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee died Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in a Chattanooga hospital.
Niya was an amazing, outgoing and loving person who never seemed to meet a stranger. She served as social, spiritual, and food counselor for many of her family and friends. She was inspirational, motivational, and had a loving heart. She also had an alter ego, "Keisha Cox" who was feisty, sassy, and very outspoken. She loved fashion, cooking, and eating though she never gained any weight. She also enjoyed greeting people in the Facebook world with, "Good Morning, Sunshine!" as she attended to her plants that she loved bragging about.
She had a good relationship with God and was very strong in her faith. She had a special place in her heart for her family, especially her nieces and nephews. To know her was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Dorothy Kelso and Florene Buchanan; uncles, Ronnie Kelso and Samuel "Rudy" Kelso; and her precious daughter, I'nari Kimiyon West.
She is survived by her mother, Angela Kelso (Wayne Gaines); father, Daryl Cox; sisters, Nichelle Kelso, Kimyon (Kevin) Mitchell, Ashley Kelso Todd, Brittany Garrett, and Daija Gaines; step-sister, Kisha Tozier; nephews, Trevon Kelso, Christopher Mitchell, and Peyton Barnes; nieces, Nekira Kelso, Amya Todd, Aija Todd, Kimbella Mitchell, and Aliyah Barnes; uncle, Danny Kelso; aunt, Elizabeth Kelso; and special friends, Stephen Cook, Dr. Rochanda Mitchell Poton, Felicia Gibbs, Lashanda Taylor, Miranda "Ren" McNeil, and Tamia Malone.
