Obituary

Annie Odell Phipps Hicks passed away on March 24, 2013 at NHC of Sequatchie in Dunlap, Tennessee.

Odell was born April 2, 1917 to the late Perry B. and Minnie Roberson Phipps. She was also preceded by her loving grandson, Chuck Jones, sister, Etta Mae Thompson and brothers, Richard, Dewey, Clone and Perry Phipps.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Doris (Bill) Murphy of Graniteville, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Ruth and Margaret Phipps, two special nieces, Lisa Parham and Lynn Melton that have loved her dearly; many special friends.

The family at this time would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at NHC of Sequatchie for the love and kindness given to her for 10 years. The whole staff in all departments are very special people, so when you hear the word "Hey" you will all think of Odell. Also a very special thank you goes to Dr. Karen Shepherd for her love and knowledge that kept her with us for 10 years. We love you all.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 12 Noon until 8pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, March 29th at 3:00 pm Central time with Tony Raffa officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.

Pallbearers will be Mike Phipps, Mark Phipps, Kevin Fuqua, Kirk Fuqua, Jason Melton, and Gary Miller. The staff of NHC, Sequatchie and Dr. Karen Shepherd will serve as honorary pallbearers.
