On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, Ovilee F. "Dan" Dancy Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

He was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Jasper, Tennessee. He loved sharing his faith with anyone who would listen. Dan proudly served in the Army from 1955 to 1964.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Alta Elizabeth and Okel Dancy; brothers, Kimmel Dancy and Kenneth Dancy; sisters, Ina Boen, Wilma Desmond and Jean Smith; wife, Shirley Jean Dancy; daughter, Dale Anne Webb.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Danny (Shirley) Dancy and David (Pam) Dancy; daughter, Debbie (Phillip) Smith, all of South Pittsburg; sisters, Betty (Steve) Elkin, of Alvin, Illinois, and Karen (David) Slater, of East Helena, Montana; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Dan will be Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 at 2:30 Central time with Bro. Mike Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Lynch Family Cemetery in Kimball, Tennessee.
