Olivia West Cordell, 78, of South Pittsburg, TN died at Erlanger Hospital on November 30, 2011 at 12:22 AM CST.

Preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Slade and Dorothy Sullivan West, she was a member of the South Pittsburg Church of Christ, and a former employee of both the South Pittsburg Municipal Hospital and The Bridge at South Pittsburg (formerly Rivermont Nursing Home).

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Francis M. Cordell, Sr. of South Pittsburg; son, Merritt Cordell, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Mrs. Jonnie West Cagle of Southhaven, MS and Melba West Huffines of Chatsworth, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Saturday, December 3rd at 1:00 PM CST officiated by Bill Helm. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.

Visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Friday, December 2nd from 5-8 PM CST.
