Mrs. Patsy Colvard Kilgore, longtime resident of Jasper, TN, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Born in South Pittsburg, TN Patsy was the daughter of the late Charles Burch Colvard, Sr. and Essie Mae Blancett Colvard and a graduate of South Pittsburg High School and Tennessee Wesleyan College.

After graduating from college, Patsy worked in the offices of Combustion Engineering. She married J. Kyle Kilgore on December 26, 1960 and they relocated to Memphis, TN where Kyle received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and Patsy earned her PHT (Putting Hubby Thru) degree. Upon graduation they relocated to Bemidji, Minnesota for two years while Kyle served in the US Public Health Service. It was there that they welcomed their first child before moving to Jasper, TN in 1965 to establish a private dental practice.

Patsy was active in Bridge Club and Home Demonstration Club in the early years and was a stay-at-home mother until her children were grown. She later became the business manager for their dental practice.

Patsy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and most recently a great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, J. Kyle Kilgore, DDS; children, Elizabeth (Libba) Estep (Marc) Carter of Brentwood, TN, Joe Kyle (Carroll)  Kilgore, II, of Columbia TN, Kayla Kilgore (Dana) Morrison of Jasper, TN; grandchildren Jackson Colvard Estep and Elizabeth Graham Estep both of Brentwood, TN, Joe Kyle (Emma Kate) Kilgore, III and Adam Carroll Kilgore both of Columbia, TN, and Robert Andrew (Bailey) McGowan and Katelyn Mae McGowan both of  Jasper, and great granddaughter and namesake Brielle Adeline McGowan; brother, Charles Burch (Winkie) Colvard Jr. and sister-in law Betty Sue Kilgore.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 1:00pm (CST) at Pine Grove Cemetery, Jasper with the Pastor Greg Steele officiating.

Active pallbearers are Jackson Colvard Estep, Joe Kyle Kilgore, III, Adam Carroll Kilgore, Robert Andrew McGowan, Katelyn Mae McGowan, and Andrew Riley Cooper.

The family wishes to express appreciation to special friend Sandra J. Reid-Kirby.

The family requests memorials be made to the Jasper First Baptist Church or the Jasper Public Library.
