Obituary

Mrs. Pearl Mayfield Rogers, 88, of South Pittsburg, died Saturday, July 16, 2011. The widow of Tom Rogers, she was one of 13 children born to William Arthur and Bertha Elizabeth Ladd Mayfield. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Frances Wileman, Jennie L. Haley, Doris Murray, her brothers, Tommy, Raymond, John D., Jerry, and Albert Mayfield.
She was a member of the Richard City Church of Christ and the Adult Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by three daughters, Gaynell "Suzie" (Bill) Vinson of Chattanooga, June (Johnny) Grimes of Jasper, and Alice Rogers of South Pittsburg, two granddaughters, Lindsay Grimes Horton and Lauren Grimes King, two great grandsons, Will King and Asher Horton, sisters Lois Henley and Grace Coffelt, both of Chattanooga, brothers Bob Mayfield of South Pittsburg and William A. Mayfield of Signal Mountain, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 2:00pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-9pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Marion County Community Ministries Food Bank, PO Box 681, Sequatchie, TN 37374.
