PJ Atwell, 34, of New Hope, TN died Monday, December 30, 2013.

A former student of South Pittsburg High School, he was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and had worked as a welder/fitter for the last 8 years, most recently with IBI Power in Chattanooga.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eula Gardner and Gene Gardner of Whitwell.

He is survived by his daughters, Cortney Atwell of New Hope and Abby Allison of Bridgeport, AL; mother, Shelby (Anthony) Newsom of New Hope; father, John (Sandra) Atwell of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Calvin Atwell of New Hope; grandparents, Philip & Chris Kennemore of New Hope; step-siblings, Stephanie Cleveland, Susan Cantrell, Hershel Raines, Lathisa Gore and Bubba Newsom; special cousin, Randall Kennemore and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, 2013 at 11am Central time. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 2nd from 1-8pm Central time at the funeral home.
