Phyllis West,83, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 with her loving family by her side.

She was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp. as a Corporal E-4.

Phyllis was a graduate of Tavares High School in Florida, as well as graduate of Jones Business College.  She was a member of Battle Creek Baptist Church.  She loved music and played in several bands throughout her life.  She also loved playing softball and was on several local teams throughout her life.  She loved all her cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Benjamin West; parents, John Wheeler Works, and Dorothy Reitz Works; brother, John Derek Works; sister, Jo Anne Johnson; and nephew, Mike Johnson.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert West, and Frank West; daughter, Debra West; brother, Charles Henry (Pudgy) Works; nephews, Emory Works, and Fred Works; nieces, Patty May, Diana Aten, Rhonda Steinbeck, and Shawn Dempsey; grandchildren, Jon West, Rachael Francis, Amber West, and Frank West, Jr, great- grandchildren, Jodi West, Sean McFalls, and Aubree McFalls,

A graveside service will be on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Nelson officiating.

The family and friends will meet at the Chattanooga National Cemetery for the funeral service.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. (CST) at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.

Mrs. West will be laid to rest with her husband, Harold B. West, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
