Mr. Raymond Calvin Collins, 88, of South Pittsburg, died Monday, February 12, 2007 in a local nursing home. The son of the late Clarence Herbert and Nellie Mae Tatum Collins, he was an US Army veteran of WWII. He was retired from TVA where he worked as a pipe fitter. He was also a member of the South Pittsburg First Baptist Church where he served for many years as Secretary/Treasurer of the Padgett Bible Class, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge #515 F&AM in South Pittsburg and the Scottish Rite. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Harris and brother, Chester Leon Collins. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Willie Mae King Collins of South Pittsburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances Carol and Peter Gebs of Richmond, VA and Patricia Lee and Johnny Henderson of Athens, GA; grandchildren, Harrison and Chelsea Gebs both of Richmond, VA, Brad and Zach Henderson both of Athens, GA; brother, Marion Herbert "Buster" Collins of Temple, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM CST with Reverend Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 14th from 6-8 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
