Obituary

Raymond James "Ray" Lawson, was born June 26, 1920 at Bolivar, Jackson County, Alabama.

Ray was the fourth son of the late James Whitfield & Ruby Elizabeth Farris Lawson. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Rae in 1973, and Sarah Beth Schenck in 2012, sister, Pauline Carroll, and brothers, Floyd and Charles.

Ray married Mildred Louise Hall of Richard City, Tennessee in November 1942. Most of his adult life, he was employed by the Penn Dixie Cement Company where he was a laboratory technician. Ray was noted for his many friends and his immaculately kept automobiles, as well as, his generosity to and concern for his friends.

Ray and Mildred worshipped at the First Baptist Church of Richard City for some seventy years. Ray was a faithful member of Marion Lodge #515 F&AM in South Pittsburg, a charter and current member of the Chattanooga Scottish Rite, and, for thirty years, of The Alhambra Shrine Temple in Chattanooga.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Jerry) Triplett, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and grandson, Paul (Keisha) Triplett of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Private services will be held for Ray's family and friends.
