Raymond Lester Turner, 85, South Pittsburg, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a native of South Pittsburg, the son of the late John William and Artie Mae Thompson Turner. He was a member of Richard City First Baptist Church and a retired employee of US Stove Company, having 44 years service. He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Frame Turner, of South Pittsburg; daughter, Linda Powers and husband Wayne, of Stevenson, AL; grandchildren, Kathy (Ryan) Bifulco, of Atlanta, Ken (Bonnie) Powers, of Birmingham, Leigh Powers, Boston, MA; great-granddaughter, Piper Grace Powers, of Birmingham; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be conducted from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Friday, June 20, at 4:00 PM, CDT, with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Thursday from 6 until 9 PM at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
