Mr. Raymond Vinson, 88, of South Pittsburg, TN, died at his home Friday, August 5, 2016.
The son of the late Robert and Evelyn McCampbell Vinson, he was also preceded in death by one son, Dr. Randall Vinson, and a brother, Billy J. Vinson. He was a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg and member of the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Vinson was a Navy veteran of World War II, had served as South Pittsburg City Commissioner and Marion County Commissioner, formerly operated Vinson Auto Parts with his brother, was a founding officer and director of 1st Bank of Marion County, and retired in 1990 as Vice-President of NationsBank in South Pittsburg.
He is survived by his loving wife, Imogene Kilgore Vinson, his daughter, Sharon V. Kellermann, his son Robert R. "Bobby" (Kathi) Vinson, all of South Pittsburg; his grandchildren, Lindy Kellermann, Kyle Kellermann, Stuart (Cori) Vinson, Mark Vinson, Rob (Juanita) Vinson, and Ryan (Dayna) Vinson; daughter-in-law, Rosa Vinson and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, 2016, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 10:00am Central time, with Rev. Cliff Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
