Reed Bible Durham, 69, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home.

A native of Jasper, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Reed & Abbie Bible Durham. He was an Eagle Scout and a member in the Order of the Arrow.

Reed was the Valedictorian of the 1965 graduating class of Marion County High School. He was also a 1970 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and was a retired employee of the Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Motorcycle Association, and the American Society for Testing and Materials. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling all over the world.

He is survived by his brother, Don (Karen) Durham of Marietta, Georgia; sister, Carlynn (Fred) Newcom of Jasper, Tennessee; niece, Freda Witt; nephew, Fredrick Newcom; great-niece, Amanda Haynes; and great-nephew, Chase Stafford.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 10:00 am Central time.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee, on Tuesday, May 23rd, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Central time. There will be no visitation on Wednesday.
