Richard Higgins
Richard Lee Higgins, 75, of Jasper, went to be with the Lord, our Savior, Saturday, December 29, 2018.
Mr. Higgins was affectionally known to many as the "Guitar Man". He honorably served in the United States Army and enjoyed a thirty-year career as a machinist with Combustion Engineering.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Higgins, as well as a brother, Harlon Higgins.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Charlsie Brewer Higgins; daughter, Rhonda Higgins; of Jasper, brothers, J.C. Higgins and Dexter (Lisa) Higgins, all of Whitwell. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who all gave Richard so much joy.
A funeral service to commemorate his life will be conducted at noon, central time, on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Reverend Mike King officiating.
Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 pm, central time and on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 11:00 am until noon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Children's Hospital at Erlanger.
