Ronald M. Tate, 64, of South Pittsburg, TN died unexpectedly on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home.
The son of the late Noah Marvin "Buddy" and Geraldine Atterton Tate, he retired from Mueller Company in Chattanooga having worked for many years as a Maintenance Technician. He was a member and Past Master of Marion Lodge #515 F&AM, a member of the Chattanooga Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of the Alhambra Shrine. He was also a member and past Deacon of First Baptist Church, South Pittsburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Gerald Tate; grandparents, John & Myrtle Atterton and Marvin & Nelvia Tate.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverly Freeman Tate; children, John Tate and Sheri Tate both of South Pittsburg; sisters, Linda Hobbs, Janice (Pete) Webb and Karen (Horace) Merritt all of Whitwell, TN; brother, Mike Tate of Chattanooga; uncle, Gene Tate of Chattanooga; aunts, Laura Jean Uselton of Whitwell, Viola Parham of Georgia and Aleen Flanagan of Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2 pm Central time at the South Pittsburg First Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8pm Central time with a Masonic service beginning at 7:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or by visiting www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org or loveshriners.org.
