Mr. Ronnie J. T. Blevins of South Pittsburg, TN died Monday, December 15, 2008 after complications related to an automobile accident.
The son of the late George Washington and Margie Lee Howard Blevins, he was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member and Past Master of Marion Lodge #515, member of the Chattanooga Scottish Rite Bodies, IBEW Local #175 and was a board member of the Nickajack Port Authority.
Mr. Blevins was an employee of Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative and was the building inspector for the communities of New Hope, Kimball, and Powell's Crossroads, and had served in the Alabama National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Madewell Blevins of South Pittsburg; son, Jay (Missy) Blevins of Kimball and granddaughter, Olivia Blevins; brother, Jimmy Dale Blevins of Stevenson, AL; sister, Myra (Jerry) Thomas of Ooltewah; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, December 17 from 3-9 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. A public Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 PM on Wednesday.
The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 12 Noon until service time.
Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church in Jasper on Thursday, December 18 at 2 PM CST with Reverend David Clay officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Relay For Life.
